Bike sale

LOWELL — The Bike Connector is holding a sale of refurbishe­d and readyto-ride bikes starting at $25. All bikes include a post-sale tune-up and proceeds benefit the nonprofit’s Earn-a-bike program, in which teens and adults can “buy” a bike by volunteeri­ng in the shop or at community bike events.

There are more than 100 road, mountain, hybrid, kids, cruisers, commuter and classic bikes to choose. The sale takes place at 47 Lee St. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15; Thursday,

March 16; Saturday, March 18; and Sunday, March 19. Paypal, Venmo and credit cards will be accepted for payment, and there will be a sliding scale for students, seniors and Lowell residents.

Saturday matinee

CHELMSFORD — Join friends for a free showing of “Devotion” at the Chelmsford Public Library, 25 Boston Road. The PG-13 film plays on the Mccarthy Meeting Room’s big screen on Saturday, March 18, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The film tells the true story of Jesse Brown, the first Black aviator in U.S. Navy history, and his friendship with fellow fighter pilot Tom Hudner. Their sacrifices during a pivotal battle in the Korean War made them them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen. Light snacks are welcome. Students receive music honors

CHELMSFORD — Eight student-musicians from Chelmsford High School were inducted into the Trim Music Honor Society in a ceremony held Feb. 13 at the Carl J. Rondina Performing Arts Center. The inductees included: Aryaman Bajpai, cello; Jade Boyer, flute; Elizabeth Kelliher, tenor saxophone; Carter Lindberg, baritone saxophone; Katherine Sanroma, flute; Mia Troncoso, vocalist; Sofia Trottier, flute; and Joshua Wolman, bassoon.

Tri-m Music Honor Society is a program of the National Associatio­n for Music Education, which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and advocacy. Tri-m inductees are selected on academic achievemen­t, commitment to service and demonstrat­ed leadership qualities within their ensembles.

Community fundraiser

Credit Union holds its 13th annual We Share A Common Thread Foundation fundraiser on Wednesday, March 29, from 6 to 10 p.m., at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, 50 E. Merrimack St. Tickets are $25 each or $250 for a table of 10.

The We Share A Common Thread Foundation was establishe­d in 2011 to support charities and organizati­ons throughout Greater Lowell that reflect the foundation’s five missions: food, shelter, clothing, health care and education.

The event includes live music from Martin and Kelly and tasting stations from various local restaurant­s including Dracut restaurant­s Grazie Italian Restaurant and Owen and Ollie’s, Chateau Merrimack in Tyngsboro and Artisan Café at the Greater Lowell Technical High School. There will also be a silent auction, games and a basket raffle. In 2022, more than $110,000 was raised and distribute­d to 141 local organizati­ons.
