DRACUT - Richard R. Montbleau, 66, a resident of Dracut, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his daughter’s home on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. He was born in Lowell on October 28, 1956 and was a son of the late Dolores A. (Marshall) Charbonnea­u and Roger H. Montbleau.

After graduating high school, Richard proudly went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He took great pride in being a veteran and serving to protect others. After his time in the service, Richard worked as an EMT for Care Ambulance and then as a paramedic for the Milford Whittinsvi­lle Regional Hospital for many years. He attended the Massachuse­tts Firefighte­r Academy later in life and upon graduation joined the Northbridg­e Fire Department for 10 years.

He was a karate instructor with a 3rd degree black belt and he enjoyed attending many tournament­s throughout the years. He loved hunting and fishing and vacationin­g down in Mexico.

Richard is survived and will be deeply missed by his three children, Nathaniel Montbleau of Boston, MA, Natalie Cafeteiro and her husband Ryan of Dracut and Bethany Degnan and her husband Brian of Dracut; his eight grandchild­ren, Nicholas, Julia, Brayden, Andrew, Mackenzie, Matthew, Jayce and Colton; his significan­t other, Shirley Blasius; his former wife and long-time friend, Debra (Lepine) Montbleau; his step-father, Leo Charbonnea­u, Sr.; his step-brother, Leo Dalphond; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He is predecease­d by his four siblings, Robin, Sharon, Jimmy and Leo.

2023 from 4 until 7 PM at the MCKENNAOUE­LLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Michael Church, Lowell. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard’s memory to Home Base Veteran and Family Care, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.
