DRACUT - Maurice P. Morin, age 87, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away at High Pointe House on Saturday, March 11, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline Jean (Faticanti) Morin with whom he enjoyed 31 years of marriage until her passing 1994.

He was born in Lowell on May 20, 1935 and was the son of the late Ulria and Jeanne (Descharnai­s) Morin. Maurice graduated from Lowell Vocational

Trade School. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy where he proudly served from 1955 to 1961 as a machine repair man on the USS Fulton AS-11. After his military service he worked as a machinist at various companies, retiring from Mor Wire & Cable in 1997. An avid sports fan, Maurice coached with St. Michael’s Little League Baseball and Lowell Youth Soccer and was a fan of the Boston teams. He served as a Eucharisti­c Minister at Saint Louis-de France Parish in Lowell and was an active member of their prayer group. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking the White Mountains, fishing, and golfing. Some of his favorite pastimes were reading, playing cribbage, and weekly coffee with friends. Above all, he was happiest spending time with his family.

Maurice is survived by his children, Pamela A. Peters and her husband David of Dracut, and Russell P. Morin and his wife Colette of Framingham; his grandchild­ren, Angela, Joshua and Jacob Peters, and Matthew and Ryan Morin; his brother, Clement Morin of California; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Maurice is predecease­d by his granddaugh­ter, Rachel Peters; his siblings, Doris Kaplon and her husband Louis, and George Morin and his wife Margaret; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Morin.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday,

March 15th from 3pm to 7pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 115 Wheeler Rd., DRACUT.
