PEPPERELL >> Over 120 seniors were thankful for the love and commitment of the staff of the Albert Harris Senior Center. The annual Thanksgiving Day dinner was prepared by Chefs Jack Bevis and Jen Samborski with the help of center volunteers.

Along with the 80 pounds of turkey cooked to perfection, kitchens staff also prepared food donated by local Kimball Fruit Stand on Hollis

Street, which included 60 pounds of potatoes, 60 pounds of carrots, and 60 pounds of squash, just for this meal.

Members of Pepperell Town Hall and the Pepperell Business Association donated their time to serve the guests. And, of course, over a dozen pies were served for dessert.

The Friends of the Pepperell Seniors were busy selling raffle tickets for items such as a beautiful afghan, handmade by Gloria

Levesque, a silver necklace, and gift cards, among many others. Proceeds from the raffles will go to purchase needed items for the center.

“Everyone is friendly, and I am thankful for that,” said Linda Wilder.

There are many daily activities at the Albert Harris Center, which is located at 37 Nashua Road, Route 111. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. A hot lunch is served Monday through Thursday. Friday breakfast is served beginning at 9:30 a.m..

Friends of Pepperell Seniors meet the first Monday of each month after lunch at 12:45 pm. Membership is open to all the residents of the area, in addition to those in Pepperell.

Senior center staff are always welcoming new faces and invite people to see why the center is referred to by many as their “home away from home”.
