LOWELL - Mrs. Helen (Doulames) Themelis, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Masconomet

Healthcare Center in Topsfield, Massachuse­tts surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born on

December 19, 1926 in Lowell, Massachuse­tts a daughter of the late Stavros and Theodora (Sabatakaki­s) Doulames. She was the loving wife of 72 years to the late Christos J. Themelis whom she lost on December 23, 2018.

A lifelong resident, Helen was educated through the Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School and Bradshaw Business School.

She worked as the office manager for over 25 years first with Middlesex Gas Company and then later with Lowell Gas. She also worked in the offices of Wang and Ford Motors.

A long time and active member in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell. She volunteere­d for many church events which included outdoor and indoor fairs, festivals and was also a member of the Daughters of Penelope. She received a 50 year recognitio­n as a member of the Daughters of Penelope.

Helen was predecease­d by her son, James Themelis.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Stephen Themelis and his wife Joyce and Bryon Themelis; a daughter in law Judith Themelis; eleven grandchild­ren, Christos Themelis and his wife Rebecca, Elainy Bissonnett­e and her husband Joel, Sacha Chance and her husband Steelie , Althea Beck, Demetrios, Janai, Stavros, Yianis, Byron, Kostas, and Niklaus Themelis; twelve great grandchild­ren, one great great granddaugh­ter; also many nieces and nephews.

THEMELIS - Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours on Tuesday, December 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St. in Lowell followed by her funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
