FRANCES TOVAR

-

October 2, 1938 - July 7, 2022

Frances Torres Tovar passed away, at the age of 83, on July 7, 2022. She passed peacefully surrounded by, and in the arms of, family. Our grief is lessened knowing that she has now gone to be with the love of her life, her husband of 64 years, Alfred Tovar. She is survived by her children Dolores Cordova, Debbie Tovar, Darlene Anzures; sibling Ysidro (PIO) Torres; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 greatgreat-granddaughter.

Her parents died when she was four years old and her Grandma Cleofas Torres (and many aunts) raised her. It was hard for her to understand. But she was strong-minded and survived through that tough time. She taught us to always be strong and to get through whatever was thrown our way with our head held up. She was the type of person who you liked as soon as you met her. She had the gift of being able to connect with people and made friends easily. She loved having family and friends over on the weekends. She was a great host. She loved her husband with all her heart as he loved her with all his. They were perfect together and we know they are so happy to be together again. She was an AWESOME grandmother. Never enough hugs, kisses, treats or food for her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.

She worked hard most of her life at different jobs but her favorite was working for the school district at Fremont Elementary in the cafeteria. She loved sewing, crocheting, embroidery and making Christmas crafts. She was a woman of many talents and enjoyed life so much. She was a survivor and she was the heart of our family.
