Garcia says he's quitting DP World Tour

Former Masters champion Sergio Garcia said he intends to quit the DP World Tour after joining the Saudi-funded LIV Golf series, claiming that he no longer feels loved on the European circuit. Garcia, who resigned his PGA membership to play in the LIV series, will be ineligible for future Ryder Cups if he quits the DP World Tour.

“I am quite clear about what I am going to do with the European circuit. Probably leave it,” Garcia told Spanish reporters after the British Open on Sunday. “I want to play where I feel loved, and right now in the European Tour I am not feeling loved.” company announced the event but did not confirm more details.

Japan’s Kyodo news agency cited unnamed sources “close to the matter” in reporting Hanyu’s decision.

He won back-to-back gold medals in 2014 in Sochi and in 2018 in Pyeongchan­g. But he finished fourth in the Beijing Winter Games five months ago and has been noncommitt­al since about his future.

The 27-year-old Japanese star is also a two-time world champion, but he failed in Beijing to become the first to land a quad Axel in competitio­n.
