City libraries offer state parks passes for 3-week checkout

All four city libraries of the San Bernardino Public Library are offering library card holders free vehicle day-use entry to more than 200 participating state park units operated by California State Parks.

The California State Library Parks Pass is valid for entry of one passenger vehicle with a capacity of up to nine people, or one highway-licensed motorcycle.

The passes may be checked out for a three-week period with a city of San Bernardino permanent library card that is in good standing, according to a news release.

Park passes may not be placed on hold or renewed and they must be returned in person during library operational hours. They are available only on a first-come, firstserved basis.

The city libraries are the Feldheym Central Library, 555 W. Sixth St.; Inghram Branch, 1505 W. Highland Ave.; Rowe Branch, 108 E. Marshall Blvd.; and Villaseñor Branch, 525 N. Mount Vernon Ave.

The Feldheym library has five passes and the three branch libraries each have three.

All four libraries are open noon-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

In addition to the park passes, the San Bernardino libraries offer a variety of online resources for library cardholders through the library’s website, sbpl.org, including Overdrive eBooks, eAudiobooks and Brainfuse LiveHomework Help with subject experts via chat from 1 to 10 p.m. daily except on major holidays.

San Bernardino residents who do not already have a library card also can sign up at sbpl.org for an online library card for access to the digital resources.
