• Flightline has been installed as the 3-1favorite for the first of two Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Wager pools. Betting begins today at 9a.m. and concludes Sunday at 3:30p.m. The pools will consist of 23 individual wagering interests and one “All Others” wager. Minimum bet is $2and it is a win wager only. The second Future Wager will be offered over Labor Day weekend.

Life Is Good is the 7-2second choice in the first pool, followed by Olympiad (9-2). Hot Rod Charlie is 20-1.

• Santa Anita announced the stakes schedule for its 2022-23winter-spring meet this week, which includes three Grade I stakes on opening day Dec. 26

— the Malibu, La Brea and American Oaks. There are a total of 93stakes races, 10 of which are Grade Is. The $500,000Grade I Santa Anita Handicap will be run March 4. The $750,000 Grade I Santa Anita Derby, which has produced 19 Kentucky Derby winners and was won last spring by Taiba, is scheduled for April

8. Closing day is June 18.

• Shedaresth­edevil was shipped Wednesday from Kentucky to Del Mar by trainer Brad Cox to run in Saturday’s $400,000Grade I Clement L. Hirsch Stakes. The 5-year-old daughter of Daredevil, who’s won 10of 20starts, won last year’s running by 31⁄4 lengths and will be challenged this year by the Bob Baffert-trained Private Mission, who goes into the race off a victory in the Grade II Santa Maria Stakes at Santa Anita on June 18. Florent Geroux, Shedaresth­edevil’s regular rider, will be aboard again. Juan Hernandez will ride Private Mission.
