Rose Rodriguez, 92 of Copperas Cove, TX, went to be with our Lord on August 2, 2022, at 9:41 AM. She passed away peacefully at AdventHeal­th Central Texas Hospital in Killeen, TX.

Rose is survived by three children, Gary Rodriguez, Larry Rodriguez and Karen Sharp, 11 grandchild­ren and 17 great grandchild­ren. She is also survived by sisters Ramona Genemaras, Virginia Carrillo and Evangelina DeLaO and two brothers, Joe Aranda and Rey Aranda.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Rodriguez, and her parents Lorenzo and Epigmenia Hernandez Aranda, as well as by five siblings: Margaret Mercado, Tony Aranda, Louie Aranda, John Aranda and Rick Aranda.

Rose was born on March 26, 1930. She graduated from Colton High School as Rose Aranda. In November, 1952 she married Joseph C. Rodriguez, a 1951 recipient of the Congressio­nal Medal of Honor for service during the Korean war. Rose and “Chuck” raised their three children in several locations including Washington State, the Canal Zone, Springfiel­d, VA, La Paz, Bolivia, Fort Hood, Texas, Rialto, CA, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Fort Bliss, TX. In 1980 they settled in El Paso for nearly 27 years until Chuck’s passing in 2005. While in El Paso, Rose was an active realtor for more than 10 years. Soon afterward, Rose re-located to live next door to her daughter’s family in Copperas Cove, TX.

Rose enjoyed hosting visits by her immediate and extended family and encouragin­g her children and grandchild­ren. Her affectiona­te smile and tender but lively spirit made her home a special place of calm and wonderful family memories.

A short graveside time of remembranc­e is scheduled on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 E Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA. Private interment will follow. Friends and family will gather at Gonzales Center, 670 Colton Avenue in Colton after the service.
