Theater group will present four readers’ theater plays
Inland Valley Repertory Theatre recently announced its 2024 season, with performances from April through December in Claremont and La Verne.
“We are thrilled to have secured two new venues for IVRT productions, the state-of-the-art Don Fruechte Theatre for the Performing Arts at Claremont High School and the acoustically magnificent Morgan Auditorium on the campus of the University of La Verne,” Donna Marie Minano, executive director of Inland Valley Repertory Theatre, said in a news release. “We’re realizing a partnership that has been years in the making.”
The season opens April 5-7 with ScriptFest, a readers’ theater presentation of four plays, “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” “A Doll’s House Part 2,” “Dead Man’s Cell Phone” and “Spike Heels.”
ScriptFest performances are at Taylor Hall, 1775 N. Indian Hill Blvd., Claremont, with “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” at 7:30 p.m. April 5; “A Doll’s House Part 2” at 2 p.m. April 6; “Dead Man’s Cell Phone” at 7:30 p.m. April 6; and “Spike Heels” at 2 p.m. April 7. Doors open an hour before performance time.
“Like listening to a radio play, this combination of expressive reading and imaginative acting creates an unforgettable experience,” Minano said in the news release. “ScriptFest is a first for IVRT. This theatrical adventure means one ticket is a pass to all four plays, plus refreshments, a silent auction and a special preshow at each performance by our musical guest, Michael Ryan.”
The four plays are not recommended for children.
Tickets are $40, available at ivrt.org or by calling the box office at 909859-4878. After ScriptFest, Inland Valley Repertory Theatre’s season will continue with “13, The Musical” June 22, 23, 29 and 30 at the Don F. Fruechte Theatre for the Performing Arts on the Claremont High School campus; “Merrily We Roll Along” July 27 and 28 and Aug. 3 and 4 at the University of La Verne’s Morgan Auditorium; and “An IVRT Holiday” Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, also at Morgan Auditorium.
