Teen is energy game-changer
A Sunnyvale teen was among six recipients of the California Energy Commission’s inaugural Clean Energy Hall of Fame awards Dec. 7. The awards recognize individuals who have made exceptional contributions in their local communities by helping California advance its clean energy goals.
Kaushik Tota received the Youth Game-Changer Award. A senior at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Tota founded the Sunnyvale Climate Youth Ambassador Program, an organization dedicated to raising awareness about climate change and equipping individuals with the knowledge to lead sustainable lifestyles. The program has reached more than 3,000 individuals and has grown to include over 30 Climate Youth Ambassadors nationwide.
The awards ceremony is posted on Youtube under “2020 Clean Energy Hall of Fame awards.”
EnActe unlocks one-acts
EnActe Arts is presenting eight one-act plays, in Hindi and English, on the effects of the lockdown on the playwrights. In “One on One Unlocked,” seven playwrights write about their experiences and perspectives on spending 150 days of mental, if not physical solitude. The monologues range from conversations with unseen companions to stream of consciousness bursts of solo thought.
The production, presented on Zoom, is the third in a series of lockdown one-acts by the Sunnyvale-based theater company. It runs Jan. 8-10; performances will be followed by a live talkback with cast and crew.
Tickets are $15 at Eventbrite.com.
