Voting is one crucial way to participate in the democracy so many of our friends and family have sacrificed for over the years.
You have to be registered to vote. The deadline to register is Oct. 9 for the November general election.

Volunteer registrars from Taos United also will be available during the PASEO and Neo Rio events Friday and Saturday (Sept. 14-15). PASEO takes place throughout downtown Taos near the Plaza and Neo Rio is in the Wild Rivers Recreation Area’s Montoso Campground. In addition, a voter registration table will be set up every Saturday during the Taos Farmers Market between now and Oct. 6.
And stay tuned for more information regarding the Taos County Sheriff forum between incumbent Jerry Hogrefe, a Democrat, and his challenger, Jani Davis, a Republican.
The forum is scheduled for Thursday, (Oct. 4) at 5 p.m. at the University of New Mexico-Bataan Hall in Taos.
