Pleasant memory of ER visit
Dear Holy Cross Director, I am writing to express my gratitude to your hospital for the excellent care I received when I went to the hospital emergency room on Saturday, June 30. I had awakened early that morning in Chama with intense pain in my left eye and hoped that if I made it to the hospital in Taos I could find out what was causing the pain and receive treatment.
From the time I registered in your emergency room, and then through the examination of my eye and the treatment given me, I felt that I was in the care of competent, compassionate people. I was greatly reassured by their explanation of my condition. Just knowing that there was no foreign object in my eye and that the discomfort from my corneal abrasion would steadily decrease provided a sense of relief.
So, if you would, please pass on my expression of appreciation to Christa Castro, PA-C; R. Adriane, RN; and Linda Lynch, M.D. A visit to the Taos hospital was not part of my original vacation plans, but thanks to their kind care that visit became what is now in a way a pleasant memory.
Sincerely, GARY J. BJORGE “workout”). I called my friend Don Larson of Kats Plumbing and Heating. I knew I could count on him at least to say, “No, I can’t do that.” But he didn’t say that at all. Don stuck with us through many challenges of no hot water, due to a very difficult appliance, jumping through every hoop imaginable and always with great kindness and a cool head. I believe the challenge and stress for Don, as he worked to resolve our plumbing issues with the least time lost as well as the least expense for us, was possibly worse for him than for us. Don succeeded, with the incredible help of the local Navien representative Jack Burger, to accomplish the most reasonable and timely solution to our problem.
I wish to publicly thank Don (and Jack) for his gentlemanly and kind assistance in our challenge. Oh, for the things that make life so much more interesting.
A most sincere “Thanks,” Don! WILLIS BLACKMORE nurse was a very emotional moment.
Our experience with Holy Cross Hospital goes back to when I was born. My mother, Jenny Vincent, would always point to a window in the old HCH building (that burned down) as we drove by after an appointment at Family Practice and say, “That was the room that we were in.” I was a difficult baby, but my mom pulled through thanks to the care that she got then and many times much later in life. My most sincere thanks to all Taos Holy Cross Hospital staff. An anecdote: A close friend said, as I was being discharged this second time, “Did you make reservations for next Saturday?”
