Margaret Nes benefits relief funds

A resident of Taos since 1969, artist Margaret Nes has asked her Santa Fe gallery, Ventana Fine Art, to announce a benefit promotion of selected paintings, to be offered at substantial discounts, with her share of the sale proceeds to be donated to the buyer’s choice of three designated relief organizations. Seven of the paintings were purchased within the two weeks of the special offer, with all buyers designating the Navajo Nation COVID-19 Relief Fund, which also benefits the Hopi Nation. Circus arts group wins grant

Wise Fool New Mexico will receive a $30,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for circus training and performance. Kristen Woods, co-executive director of Wise Fool, said in a statement: “Wise Fool believes that the circus arts are more important now than ever. We have seen over quarantine that the arts have played a pivotal role in making life enjoyable and sustainable. Circus connects us, brings a spark to life and helps us work through feelings and heal. As we are able to practice together, we are excited to share the benefits of circus with our community.” Check out the group at wisefoolnewmexico.org.
