Joseph Douglas Ramirez

Age (68), a loving husband and father, born on July 2, 1951 in Taos, NM passed away in his Phoenix, Arizona home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday June 29, 2020. Joseph served in the United States Navy during Vietnam; after serving he graduated from New Mexico Highlands University in 1980 and was a Special Education teacher for over 30 years. He married Edna Cordova in 1974 and celebrated 46 years of marriage in June. Joseph is preceded in death by his mother Stella Ramirez and mother and father in law Porfirio and Rosana Cordova. He is survived by his wife Edna Ramirez, sister Victoria (Michael) Hopkins, son Jerome (Jessica) Medina, daughters Cynthia (Michael Brito), Nychole (Manny) Garcia, Veronica (Mychael) Newman, grandchildren Marcos Medina, Emilio Medina, Dazza Herrera, Bridgette Herrera, Marquis Ramirez, Mykalti Brito, Marsellis Garcia, Amaya Brito, Amyna Brito, Amyra Brito, and Kaleesi Garcia. Joseph will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona; services are postponed until further notice.
