Immerse into Indigenous beadwork
Join the curator and artists of the “Stitched in Sovereignty” exhibition of Indigenous beadwork – installed at the Couse-Sharp Historic Site, but only on view online – for two interactive one-hour online discussions of the artwork and its context: Thursday (Nov. 19) at 5:30 p.m. curator Chelsea Herr (of the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa) speaks with artists Molly Murphy Adams and Kellen Trenal Lewis; Friday (Nov. 20) at 5:30 p.m. curator Herr speaks with artists Brit Ellis and Shelby Rowe. Email admin@couse-sharp.org to register for the free Zoom webinar. Learn how the artwork conveys stories of the ways Native peoples maintain control of their cultures, social and governing systems. See the exhibit at stitchedinsovereignty.org.
