Los Pastores 2020
Starting Wednesday (Dec. 16) at 7 p.m., Grupo Sangre de Cristo presents a virtual Los Pastores, the time-honored folk drama reflecting the joy of the Christmas season. Directed by Theresa Córdova, Ph. D., (daughter of Arsenio and Kathryn Córdova), Los Pastores is about the shepherds’ search for the newborn Christ Child.
“This year the cast plans to present a virtual, innovative piece that observes the current COVID-19 protocols of social distancing,” Kathyrn Córdova, Ed. D. said in press materials. Everyone is invited to join the Hulbert Center for Southwest Studies YouTube channel for this 39th year of the Los Pastores tradition. The video will stay up on YouTube to watch on any dates the “pastorela” would be performed, including Friday (Dec. 18) at 7 p.m., Sunday (Dec. 20) at 2 p.m., and Thursday (Dec. 24) at 7 p.m.
