America Martin at 203
Paintings and drawings by America Martin are currently on view in 203 Fine Art through Jan. 31, as a part of their current exhibition. “Rest with Blossoms” is a drawing in ink and pastel on paper, which “shows America’s perceptive representation of women,” according to gallery press. Works by the Los Angelesbased, Columbian American artist are duly noted to be “[s]overeign, yet dreamy, this
figure fills the composition with solidity and presence, extending to the edges of the page,” the press continues. “Pulled from the flat file, this seldom seen piece is now framed and available for purchase.”
Martin is quoted in the press as saying, “An artist paints because she must,” which the gallery notes is displayed as an undeniable “urgency” that is seen in her “confident brushstrokes and bold compositions. Internationally represented, America is a rising star in contemporary art,” the gallery concludes. To view more paintings and drawings by America Martin, visit her Artist’s Page at 203fineart.com.
Also on view is sculpture by Taos sculptor Ron Lopez, works by Bea Mandelman, paintings by Tom Dixon and select items from the R.C. Ellis estate as a part of its current exhibition. Open daily by appointment, 203 Fine Art is located at 1335 Gusdorf Road, Suite i, in Taos. For more see the Events page at 203FINEART. com.
