Her very special nephew, JD Cruz, was also waiting in Heaven to welcome her home. Ofelia was born in Taos on July 2, 1933. She grew up enjoying the beauty of Ranchitos with her large immediate family and countless tias, tios y primos. Ofelia was well known in the community and had many close friends through her time working at JC Penny on the plaza. Known as Grams by her beloved grandchildren, Ofelia always enjoyed visiting and enjoying un cafecito while reminiscing about the good old days. Her memory will forever live on in her beloved familia and the memories we made with her during her 88 years on earth.A rosary will be held on Friday October 22 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at 9am, with funeral mass following at 10am. Ofelia will then be escorted to Dolores cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved daughter, Ana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Hospital. We remain grateful for the many expressions of love and care for Ofelia, and all of the family, during her life, in her death, and in celebrating her eternal life.
