New Mexico State Police seeks help solving Carson Estates homicide
Taos County Crime Stoppers offers up to $1,000 reward
New Mexico State Police is asking for the public’s help finding out who killed Patrick Milligan, 49, who was found shot to death Oct. 7 in the Carson Estates/Two Peaks area west of Taos.
Milligan was found at his home around 5 p.m. on Allen Street in the rural community, according to state police.
Taos County Crime Stoppers is assisting state police in gathering information on the unsolved case. Crime Stoppers offers up to a $1,000 reward for “tips that lead to the arrest of a homicide suspect ...”
A gifted artist originally from Cochran, Georgia, Milligan was well known in the region for delivering food from the St. James Food Pantry in Taos, as well as working with the Shared Table in El Prado.
Although he was described on his Facebook page as “an emotionally militant hippie,” Milligan was also “whip smart and mischievous as the day is long (and) had a knack for getting into trouble and wiggling his way back out with his irresistible charm, irreverent humor, and cunning wit,” according to another post.
For years, he expressed his “giving spirit” by delivering food to families who lived in the scattering of homes on the east side of the Rio Grande Gorge, which was especially welcomed by those who could not make it into Taos on their own.
The New Mexico State Police is investigating this homicide and is asking for the public’s assistance with any information regarding the murder of Patrick Milligan.
