S. FLYNN HOLLAND WROTE:

“Taoscompplan.org is the Pdf for present and future plans. I can’t imagine the community and valley can weather the future airport density in noise, air and water pollution.

Some will profit, but most will be driven out. It will crack the community in half. Projections do not include the disruptions. And I was amazed how many airports are in close proximity to Taos. Though small, it becomes dense in our skis. Judge it well and voice your concerns.” KRISTI NELSON HEMPEL WROTE: “Not just for the uber-rich. When I start flying again... I will no doubt take that flight to San Diego to visit my friend. I think the community at large would use it.” “After watching Yellowstone, I recall a line from the show. It was something like; ‘Ski resorts are the death of all small towns.’ And after being farm-raised myself, along with growing up in Taos, I can relate.”

BUCK JOHNSTON WROTE: Dang … sounds like money. Check out the condition of the basketball court at Baca Park that desperately needs work. I feel like making nice places for our youth, and adults for that matter, to partake in healthy activities should be a little higher on the priority list. In my opinion…”

FRANCES KING WROTE: “Wow I wonder what we are paying this consultant company. It’s ridiculous to me how many people have their hands in this pork barrel project that does not benefit the working people of Taos. If the plan is as adaptable at this consultant company claims, let’s throw it in the bin and build affordable housing. If we need to use the money for an airport, then let’s build affordable housing in the airport.”

RICK BROWN WROTE: “The people spoke in this election, which was partly a referendum on this very issue. I hope the new administration will see this as a mandate.”

Don’t blame the Upper Basin states

“There is a continuing mathematical absurdity in trying to allocate more water than that existing now and for the future in the Colorado River basin. Perhaps try the more sensible approach of the San Luis Valley of the headwaters of the Rio Grande where water managers send ‘dry water’ down the river to New Mexico and retain ‘wet water’ for their purposes in Colorado. And yes, distinguishing between ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ water is an established political fact.”

NM SECRETARY OF STATE: Recount, then game of chance

EDITH LAWRENCE BAKER WROTE: “Hooray for newly-elected Mayor Neal King. An ideal democratic solution not found, regrettably, in the USA of late.” DAVID HANNA WROTE: “What a simple, common sense solution.”
