The following is a condensed list of events that occurred in the Town of Taos:
MAY 11
4:33 a.m. Domestic Disturbance, Unknown location – Caller said her friend was being beaten up, but didn’t know where her friend was. An address was eventually given but no contact was made.
6:02 a.m. Domestic Disturbance, State Highway 240 – A woman was found beaten up on the side of the road. She was taken to Holy Cross. 10:50 a.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Herdner Road – Caller said they wanted to speak with law enforcement about some individuals in the area who looked “very suspicious.” No contact was made. 11:49 a.m. Harassment, Felicidad Lane – Caller said it looked like there were three homeless individuals pitching a tent and said they were yelling obscenities at her daughter. The individuals left the area.
2:27 p.m.
Information Report, Herdner Road
– Caller said she had footage of someone hanging out in her yard for a long time. Officers said they would do frequent patrols. 4:39 p.m.
Suspicious Circumstances, Bertha Street
– Caller said there were homeless individuals playing loud music, dancing and “meowing.” No contact was made with anyone playing loud music or meowing.
MAY 12
3:51 a.m. Civil Complaint, Quality Inn – Caller said he was in fear for his life and wanted a ride to El Prado. 8:28 a.m. Battery, Weimer Road – Caller said her aunt slapped her at her place of employment and then her aunt took off on foot. The woman was taken to the county jail.
2:54 p.m. Psychiatric Behavior, Holy Cross – Caller said there was a man who climbed out of his room with an IV still in. The man was not found.
4:59 p.m. Forgery, Smith’s – Caller said someone just gave them a fake $100 bill. Officers reviewed video footage.
5:00 p.m. Harassment, Ranchitos Road – Caller said a man spat on his car, and when the caller confronted him, he showed a handgun. A report was filed.
5:55 p.m. Larceny, Smith’s – Caller from a construction company wanted to speak to an officer about someone stealing their traffic signs.
MAY 13
10:31 a.m. Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Hinds & Hinds – Caller said they had been trying to get a trailer back from someone since May 9. The renter’s identification was given to police. 12:19 p.m. Civil Complaint, Bertha Road – Caller said the office manager of a business refused to give them a receipt and they wanted to speak with an officer. 1:29 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Martinez Lane – Caller said there was a man making “weird, loud noises” in the area. No contact was made.
5:18 p.m. Narcotics Offense, Taos Lifestyle – Caller said there were six teenagers outside the store smoking cannabis and blocking the entrance to the store. No contact was made. 9:17 p.m. Larceny, Herdner Road – Caller said a woman stole a Nintendo Switch from him and he wanted to make a report.
MAY 14
11:50 a.m. Trespassing, Dollar Tree – Caller said there was a man in the store being verbally abusive to the staff. He was removed from the area. 1:47 p.m. Welfare Check, Taos Plaza – Caller said there was a man asleep in a flower bed.
10:55 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Taos Mountain
Casino – Caller said there were two occupants of a gray SUV looking suspicious. They were just smoking cigarettes.
MAY 15
2:28 a.m. Traffic Hazard, Siler Road – Officer said someone put a “Road Closed” sign in the middle of the road. No report was filed.
11:48 a.m. Information Report, Dollar Tree – Caller said there was a man who stole some items and ran toward La Posta Road. The man was not located.
2:00 p.m. Larceny, Sipapu Street – Caller said someone stole his drum kit and he wanted to make a report.
4:28 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Manzanares Street
– Caller said a man driving a green Jeep had been vandalizing her property. An officer noted her car had been spray painted and said they would do frequent patrols.
6:56 p.m. Shoplifting, Walmart – Caller said someone parked in a black truck had stolen two bottles of Tide detergent. One person was arrested and taken to county jail.
MAY 16 Information Report, Hernder Road
10:22 a.m.
– Caller wanted to speak to an officer about her son’s employer refusing to give him his paycheck.
1:00 p.m. Public Affray, Bent Street – Caller said there was a fight in progress in front of the Governor Bent Museum. It turned out to be an argument between neighbors. No report was filed.
8:22 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Siler Road – Caller said people were chasing each other and fighting in the road. No contact was made.
