-

Age 61, a resident of Ranchos de Taos, passed away December 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father Obed Brito, mother Aurelia Brito; and brother Steve Brito. Christoval is survived by his wife of 41 years Frances (Pudgie) Maestas; daughter Carmen Cristina Brito; his beloved grandsons Jason (Cowboy) Brito and Daniel Lawson; siblings Rose Baxter (Martin), Orlando Brito, Beatrice Abeyta (Roy), and Frances Cobos (Rafael); as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Everybody had a special place in Christoval’s heart, he was very funny, outspoken and true to himself. There was never a dull moment when he was around, he was always willing to help anyone in need, he was a jack-of-all trades, and having extended knowledge about the world, made him a good teacher. He was a jokester and made people laugh and had a heart of gold, especially for his family and grandsons. His wife Frances was his life starting out as high school sweethearts, to spending 41 years of marriage together, no matter the circumstances, they stuck together, through thick and thin, forever in love. He wore the titles of father and grandfather with a badge of honor. The unconditional love he had for his daughter Carmen, is insurmountable, Carmen was a daddy’s girl and deeply loved her father. Services will be held at a later date. The family of Christoval Brito has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. 866-657-4019 www.devargastaos.com
