Boutique hotel opens up in Ranchos de Taos

I think it’s great to have options that don’t allow kids or pets, several options in the area allow them so if you need it, that’s fine, but if you need a break from them this is a beautiful option.

CYNDEE KATHRYN PEREZ WROTE: Congratulations, welcome to Taos. Wishing you much success, thank you for opening a new business in our community.

Such a joyous, aware and beautiful person. Condolences to all whose soul he touched with his energy. So many of the great ones have chosen to leave recently.

STEPHEN BARR WROTE:

Thank you once again for bringing my situation to light at El Lodge. We we evacuated from the county line down to the rock wall and the fire certainly jumped the line by a good 7-10 miles into Taos County as well. Although we did not lose any structures, we suffered massive amounts of smoke damage that ruined all soft surface materials like linens, furniture etc. and we are still — eight months later — attempting to get the hard surfaces free of the residue and smell. This business was running at a break-even cash flow when I took over management and in the red ever since and has caused severe hardship on all involved. I’d like to address an issue that, thus far, not been discussed and that is I am unable now to obtain commercial liability insurance from any provider at any price which prevents me from renting the lodge out on a nightly basis during ski season. Is there not some state mandated “pool” that insurance companies have to participate in for disaster areas as there is in other states? I’ll be at the meeting in Peñasco and I’d like to publicly thank the above referenced legislators for procuring these additional funds and apologize for some of my rather hostile social media posts that we made in frustration.

Communication is the key as in all things and no single public official had communicated anything to me other than my outgoing county commissioner and what I was told the day I registered with FEMA back in May is not what eventually happened. We will try to hang on and be patient through the winter and will be keeping a keen eye on our back hill to the south which had a good 5-7 acres destroyed on a steep slope that surely is going to slide down come spring.

Tarot for 2023 GUEST3946 WROTE:

Is it possible that the Taos News can provide an opportunity to provide a Christian perspective on the future as the news has done with other religions and teachings? Not simply being a matter of ideological diversity and equity, but presenting a life perspective that many others adhere to. In addition to Catholic perspectives, many Protestant religious beliefs are equally applicable to issues confronting all of us. I encourage the Taos News to reach out and share all perspectives and teachings.

DM6 WROTE:

From Ted Wiard to David Fernandez de los Taos, and many more, Taos News has always been inclusive of all the faiths and belief systems representative of Taos residents, perhaps more of the Pueblo could be added but since they are protective of their ways — for good reason, Taos News has done very well and been respectful of all.
