Equine Spirit Sanctuary announces winter offerings

- — Staff report

Taos local horse therapy nonprofit Equine Spirit Sanctuary recently announced an open group discussion about horses and “mini clinics” for the winter season.

The free group discussions will be held weekly as a group forum “to share ideas and talk about our experiences with horses, lessons that we learn from horses, interacting with horses, and all the amazing things that horses bring to our lives,” reads a press release from the organization, which adds that the sessions may include “hands-on work” with horses depending on the weather. (Visit the links below for information on suggested donations).

The mini clinics will be held monthly starting Saturday (Jan. 14). The first is titled “New Beginnings: Exploring the healing power of intentions, core values and recognizing obstacles through somatic connection and community.” (More information on these, including pricing, can be found at the links below.)

“The clinic explores the

relationship with self and the horse and how we first need to be fully in relationship with ourselves before we can be fully in relationship with a horse and others in our life. We will practice being authentic and compassionate with ourselves first so we naturally bring that energy of openness, love and respect to all our relationships.”

Equine Spirit Sanctuary is located at 13 Los Caballos Road — just off the west end of Cuchilla Road and Los Cordovas. For more information, call Ruth Bourgeois at the Equine Spirit Sanctuary (575-758-1212) or go to equinespiritsanctuary. org or facebook.com/ equinespiritsanctuary.
