Ca­role Mor­ley of West Nor­ri­ton

Ca­role C. (Calvert) Mor­ley, a life­long Nor­ris­town area res­i­dent, passed away peace­fully at her home in West Nor­ri­ton on Sun­day, Jan. 26, 2014. She was 81.

Born in Philadel­phia, Pa., on Dec. 11, 1932, she was a daugh­ter of the late Wil­liam W. & Eleanor (Mur­dock) Calvert.

She was the wife of the late Wil­liam R. Mor­ley and the for­mer wife of the late David D. John­son, who passed away in 1978.

Ca­role was a re­tired art teacher with the Nor­ris­town Area School Dis­trict.

She vol­un­teered as a Red Cross grey lady at the for­mer Mont­gomery Hos­pi­tal, and she was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was a for­mer Repub­li­can com­mit­tee­woman and she was also a mem­ber of the Nor­ris­town Gar­den Club.

Ca­role en­joyed an­i­mals of all kinds, and she adopted a cou­ple of res­cue dogs. She en­joyed pro­vid­ing art lessons to chil­dren. She also en­joyed read­ing and be­ing at the beach and be­ing out in the sun. She loved mu­sic and dance and she en­joyed shop­ping, es­pe­cially at her fa­vorite store, Macy’s.

She will be sadly missed by her fam­ily and many friends.

Ca­role is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Leslie Kosky of War­wick, R.I.; sis­ter Ju­dith E. Yerkes of New Hope, Pa.; brother Wil­liam W. Calvert of Delaware; and a grand­daugh­ter, Katie Xiao Lei.

A me­mo­rial Fu­neral Ser­vice for Ca­role will be held on Fri­day, Jan. 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Moore, Sn­ear & Rug­giero Fu­neral Home, 19 East Ger­man­town Pike East Nor­ri­ton, PA 19401; 610-277-1600.
