Morris Lasorda, 86, of Malvern passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his home. Born in Norristown on July 31, 1931, he was the son of the late Sabatino & Carmella Lasorda and the loving husband of JoAnn Lasorda.

During his early years in Norristown, Morris attended the Holy Saviour School and was a graduate of West Catholic High School’s Class of 1949. After high school he joined the Air Force, where he proudly served his country for over 20 years, and would also become a member of the Catholic War Veterans. Morris had a passion for restaurant­s and was the proud owner of Lasorda’s Restaurant in Blue Bell, Jeffersonv­ille, and Exton for over 31 years, with his brothers. Morris loved his family dearly. He was considered the patriarch of the family, and if there was anyone who ever had a problem, Morris was the one to talk to. He was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and great-grandfathe­r, and a dear friend to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, and he will be missed by many.

In addition to his wife, JoAnn, Morris is survived by his children David (Pamela) Lasorda of Sewickley, PA, Kathy Ferreira of Fremont, CA, and Eddie (Sue) McCraw of Malvern PA; and three brothers, Thomas (Joan) Lasorda, Harry Lasorda and Joseph “Smokey” (Gaetana) Lasorda. He is also survived by his 13 grandchild­ren and seven greatgrand­children, and several nieces and nephews.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his loving daughter Debbie Sellers and his brother Edward Lasorda.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 9:00 am – 10:50 am, at the Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St., Norristown PA. 19401. Mass will follow the viewing at 11:00 am. Burial will be held privately at the convenienc­e of the family.
