Carmela Granese of Bridgeport

Carmela (Volpe) Granese passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in E. Norriton, PA. She was 77. Mrs. Granese was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. She worked as a seamstress. Carmela was a member of Holy Saviour Church in Norristown, PA, where she was a member and volunteer of the Holy Saviour Club. She was previously a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. Carmella had a strong independent spirit. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking for her family and making cookies for her grandchildren.

Born in Montella, Italy on July 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Carlo Volpe and Filomena Chiaradonna. She was the wife of the late Virginio Granese, who died in 2013. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Andreina Bruno and her husband, Frank, of Holland, PA; a son, Gianclaudio Granese and his wife, Shelby, of Collegeville, PA; four grandchildren: Alyssa and her husband, Kyle, Richard, Gino and Nicky; a brother, Rocco Volpe and his wife, Assunta Contino, of Montella, Italy; two sisters, Anita Gramaglia of La Paz, Bolivia and Bruna Volpe and her husband, Attilio Carlucci, of Montella, Italy; and many other loving family members.

Relatives & friends are invited to Carmela’s Funeral Mass at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St., Norristown, PA on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 am. Her viewing will be Saturday from 10 to 10:50 am, at the church. Entombment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery Mausoleum, King of Prussia, PA
