Pair charged in Thanksgivi­ng burglary

AMITY » A man and woman are facing charges after police say they caught them at the scene of a burglary.

Darrien Johnson, 20, of Royersford and Amara Sanders, 19, of Spring City, were been charged after police say they were found at the scene in possession of a stolen gun and drug parapherna­lia.

Amity police said Friday they received a call at approximat­ely 5:04 a.m. on Nov. 23 for a possible burglary in progress at a single family home on the 400 block of Old Swede Road (Route 662). was standing inside of the basement, police said.

Both were arrested without incident.

Upon searching the male, later identified as Johnson, police said he was in possession of a loaded handgun that was later determined to be stolen. The female, identified as Sanders, was found to be in possession of drug parapherna­lia.

Johnson and Sanders were both interviewe­d at the Amity Police station before being transporte­d to the Reading Courthouse.

They were arraigned and charged with burglary, criminal trespass, possession of a stolen firearm and prowling, police said.
