Heavy favorites with Bears coming to town
PHILADELPHIA » In this, the season of near perfection, the Eagles still are searching for a signature game on offense despite consecutive blowouts of the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys.
Which doesn’t bode well for the Chicago Bears, who walk into Lincoln Financial Field Sunday just six games from another rebuild (1 p.m., Channel 29, WIP 94.1-FM).
The Eagles average a leagueleading 32 points. They rank second in the NFL in rushing, and third in yards from scrimmage and third down conversion rate. And they feel they’re just scratching the surface.
“One game we’ve had a really good passing game,” Eagles leading receiver Zach Ertz said. “Another game we’ve had a really good running game. But we haven’t had a truly complete game, that 500-yard game. I think that’s why we are excited is because we haven’t played our best and we’re still playing really good football.”
The Eagles top the NFL with a 9-1 record.
