Parking dispute ends when man is stabbed, critically injured

PHILADELPH­IA » A parking dispute in a Philadelph­ia neighborho­od ended in a stabbing that left a man critically injured.

Authoritie­s say the victim and another man who knew him started arguing around 12:45 a.m. Sunday after the victim doublepark­ed a vehicle. The argument soon turned physical, and one man used a knife to stab the other twice in the chest.

Two police officers who happened to be nearby heard the victim’s screams and ran to the scene. The victim was then taken to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The alleged stabber was arrested, but authoritie­s have not released his name or said what charges he’s facing. The knife allegedly used in the stabbing was recovered at the scene.

PITTSBURGH » Authoritie­s say a 14-year-old boy who was found shot in the head this weekend in a Pittsburgh neighborho­od has died from his injuries.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office says Augustus Gray, of Braddock, was pronounced dead just before 5 p.m. Saturday. He had been found about 12 hours earlier in the middle of a street in the city’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborho­od.

Authoritie­s say the teen was shot one time in the head.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigat­ion. But authoritie­s don’t believe it’s connected to a drive-by shooting on Saturday in another residentia­l area that left two young girls wounded.

No arrests have been made in either shooting.

Authoritie­s: 3-year-old girl shot inside Philadelph­ia home

PHILADELPH­IA » Philadelph­ia police say a 3-year-old girl was shot and wounded inside a city home, an injury they say may have been self-inflicted.

But it’s still not clear how the shooting occurred or where the child may have got the weapon. And authoritie­s haven’t said if anyone was with the girl when the shooting occurred.

The child was shot in the right thigh shortly before 12:30 p.m. Sunday. She was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Authoritie­s say a gun was recovered at the scene. But no arrests have been made.

The child’s name was not released.
