Vernon Dale Stehman Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Norriton Square Nursing & Rehab in Norristown, PA. He was 85. Mr. Stehman was a resident of King of Prussia, PA and a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1952. He worked as a technician for the former Burroughs Company, which is now Unisys. Dale served on the Council of West Conshohock­en and was an assistant leader for the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed golf, cooking, traveling and gardening. Dale was a US Army veteran of the Korean conflict, serving with the military police.

Born in Chestnut Hill, PA on March 5, 1932, he was a son of the late John L. and Esther (Kopenhaver) Stehman. Surviving is his loving family including a son, Vernon Dale Stehman Jr.; a daughter, Jane (Lewis) Aldinger; his beloved companion, Eileen Gergel; five grandchild­ren, Jessica (Steve) Smith, Ryan Pryor, Brent (Carrie) Pryor, David (Danielle) Stehman and Matthew Stehman; a brother, Robert Stehman; two sisters, Anne Lacy and Mary Dewey; four greatgrand­children, Alana Pryor, Grant Smith, Riley Smith and Andrew Stehman; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Landis, Richard, Francis, Donald and Stanley.

Dale’s Funeral Service will be held at the Gulph United Church of Christ, 100 Matsonford Road, Gulph Mills, PA on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 am, with greeting from 10 to 10:50 am. Interment will be in the United Church of Christ Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made in Dale’s memory to Gulph United Church of Christ, 100 Matsonford Rd., Gulph Mills, PA 19406 and/or American Parkinson Disease Associatio­n, 332 Gerard Ave., Elkins Park, PA 19027.
