PHILADELPHIA » As they will throughout the season, the 76ers assigned rookie swingman Furkan Korkmaz to the Delaware 87ers of the G-League Friday.

Korkmaz was scheduled to travel with the Sevens and play Saturday afternoon at 1 in Tennessee against the Memphis Hustle.

The 26th overall pick in the 2016 draft, who played last year in his native Turkey, has spent his rookie season on the NBAG-League shuttle. The 20-year-old has played in five games for both the Sixers and Sevens.

For Delaware, the 6-7 Korkmaz has averaged 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 32.1 minutes. As a Sixer, he has played a total of 12 minutes, averaging 0.8 points.

Any player assigned by an NBA team to its GLeague affiliate can only be recalled by that team.

••• After playing on back to back nights, the Sixers were off Friday. They will entertain the Detroit Pistons Saturday night at 7:30 in the first of a three-game homestand. They will play the Phoenix Suns Monday and the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday.

Joel Embiid, who did not play in a 108-97 loss Thursday in Boston in a concession to “load management” is expected to face Detroit.

T.J. McConnell (shoulder) also missed the Celtics game. His availability will be a game-time decision. Guard Jacob Pullen, on a two-way contract, joined the Sixers in Boston.

The Pistons brought the Eastern Conference’s second-best record to Washington for a game Friday.

The Sixers won, 97-86, in Detroit on Oct. 23.
