Joseph P. Martinelli, Sr., 88, of Conshohock­en, PA, passed away on December 3, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Assunta “Sue” (D’Antonio) Martinelli.

Joe was born in Conshohock­en, PA on March 19, 1929 to the late Enrico and Marie (Rossi) Martinelli. He was a graduate of Conshohock­en High School Class of ’47. Joe served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Maintenanc­e Supervisor for Tompkins Rubber Co. for 46 years. He was a member of the former SS. Cosmas and Damian Church where he served as an Usher and Choir member for many years as well as working at the annual church feast. For the last 3 years he was a member of Saint Helena Church. Joe was also a member of the Andrew Lannutti Post #18 and the Columbus Civic Associatio­n where he was Past Treasurer. He enjoyed gardening and playing cards.

Joe is survived by his three children: Joseph P. Martinelli, Jr., Maria Costa (Anthony), Nicolette Theisen (Jeffrey); three grandchild­ren: Anthony Costa, Jr., Jessica Costa, Dylan Theisen; a sister Gertrude Calcagni. He was predecease­d by 7 siblings: Dora Goldberg, Ella Greco, Margaret Januzelli, Irene Bello, Emma McCarren, Fred J. Martinelli and George Martinelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Helena Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. A viewing will be held from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church. Entombment will be in St. Matthew Mausoleum, Conshohock­en. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Lung Associatio­n, 527 Plymouth Rd. Ste. 415, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. Arrangemen­ts made with the Emil J.
