Eugene Reese Bogle Jr.

Eugene Reese Bogle, Jr. passed away peacefully on November 21, 2017 at age 95. Born on October 26, 1922 in Centerville, TN, Reese was the son of Virginia (Arnall) and Eugene Reese Bogle. He resided in Audubon, PA with his beloved wife, Betty Nieman Bogle, who passed away in 2011.

Reese was the loving father of Frances Bogle and Eugene Reese Bogle III. He was the cherished grandfather of Thomas Reese Bogle and his wife Carly, Brian Michael Bogle and his wife Katie and Jeffrey Scott Bogle. He was the loved father-in-law of Deborah Lee Clark and Kathy Bogle, and beloved uncle of Nancy Conover and Sally Melcher.

Following graduation from Vanderbilt University he proudly served our country as an officer in the US Navy during WWII.

After the war, Reese worked for the General Electric Company for the next 40 years. He was a member of the Elfun Society an organization of GE employees and retirees dedicated to improving the lives of its members and doing community service. Reese ended his career as a manager in the Missile and Space Vehicle Division.

An active member of the United Church of Christ at Valley Forge, Reese served on the church Board of Elders and with the national church on the Global Ministries Board. He and Betty had travelled to over 50 countries and enjoyed sharing time with their grandchildren.

A service celebrating Reese’s life will be held on Dec. 15 at 11:30 am at the United Church of Christ at Valley Forge, 45 Walker Road, Wayne, PA 19087.
