George A. Koresko of King of Prussia

George A. Koresko passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at Paoli Hospital. He was 77. Mr. Koresko was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School. George worked as a truck driver for many years and was a co-owner of the Koresko Christmas Tree Stand. He was a steward of the Columbia Social Club in Philadelph­ia, PA, a president and member of the Ukrainian American String Band for many years, and the Mummers Hall of Fame. George was also a past president and vice president of the Penn Jersey String Band Associatio­n, and a director of the Philadelph­ia New Year’s Parade. He was a race car driver and car enthusiast, and an Eagles football fan. Most of all, he loved annual summer vacations with his family in Myrtle Beach and spending time with his grandchild­ren.

George served in and was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard of Pennsylvan­ia and the US Army Reserves.

Born in Norristown, PA on March 2, 1940, he was a son of the late George and Emma (Spitko) Koresko. Surviving is his loving family including his wife, Alice M. (Hemcher) Koresko; two sons, George A. Koresko Jr. of King of Prussia, PA and David (Barbara) Koresko of Schwenksvi­lle, PA; a daughter, Lisa (David) Burns of King of Prussia, PA; eight grandchild­ren, Lauren Koresko, George A. Koresko III, Matthew Koresko, David Burns, Kelly Burns, David Koresko Jr., Victoria Miller and Michael Roberto; and family friend whom George thought of as a son, Scott (Jennifer) Newell of King of Prussia, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to George’s viewings at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 6 to 8:00 pm; also Saturday morning from 9 to 10:50 am, with his Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Officiatin­g will be Msgr. Dr. Ronald Popivchak. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made in George’s memory to the Montgomery County Quarter Midget Racing Club, 920 Township Line Road, Phoenixvil­le, PA 19460.
