Clare A. Kershaw, age 77, of Swedeland, passed away peacefully at home with family members at her bedside. Clare was born in Norristown and was the daughter of the late John Bishop and the late Frances Wynn Bishop. She was the devoted wife of the late Bill Kershaw and the loving mother of Clareann Kahley, Laurie Beth Kahley and Daniel (Dawn) Kahley. She is also survived by her beloved grandchild­ren, Kaitlyn Dawn Kahley and Daniel Royeston Kahley.

Mrs. Kershaw was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1958 and then graduated from GwyneddMer­cy School of Nursing. In 1978, she received her B.S. Degree in Supervisio­n and Management, also from Gwynedd-Mercy. She started her career in nursing at Bryn Mawr Hospital as a delivery nurse and went on to become a Forensic Nursing Supervisor, working at Norristown State Hospital for over 30 years. Clare was a member of The St. Valentine Club in Bridgeport, the Swedeland Volunteer Fire Company and was active in the Nurses Union.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, December 21, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, 305 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg, PA, 19405, 610-275-6385, which will be followed by her entombment in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
