Kelce takes Pro Bowl snub in stride

PHILADELPHIA » Jason Kelce knows how to take a snub.

The two-time Pro Bowl center was not voted to the NFC team this season even though he says he’s playing at his highest level.

All it takes to realize how well Kelce has performed is to look at the Eagles’ league-best 12-2 record and the credentials of their quarterback. Carson Wentz still is leading the league with 33 touchdown passes despite sitting out a game. Last week backup Nick Foles threw four scoring passes. Kelce obviously had nothing to do with any of that.

“Both years that I went, I think were two of the worst years I’ve probably had,” Kelce said Wednesday. “The one year I had sports hernia surgery and missed about four games. Last year was probably the worst year of my career. It’s pretty ironic that the two years that I went, I don’t think I deserved to be going.”

Kelce applauded the NFC centers, calling Alex Mack of the Falcons and Travis Fredrick of the Cowboys “pretty darn good.”

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said Kelce “doesn’t get enough credit.

“He’s been solid all year long,” Pederson said. “He’s been nicked up with the ankle, as you know and just continues to play at a high level. He would definitely be one that would be deserving of that honor.”

Six Eagles made the Pro Bowl. In addition to Wentz, tight end Zach Ertz, guard Brandon Brooks, offensive tackle Lane
