Anthony F. “Doc” Barbato passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at his son’s residence in W. Norriton, PA. He was 82. Mr. Barbato was a resident of Norristown, PA. He worked as a Safety Manager for the former Allen Wood Steel Company and later he worked in the maintenanc­e department at the Pathway School in W. Norriton. Doc was a member of Holy Saviour Church in Norristown, PA. He was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Bridgeport, PA. Doc was an avid golfer, enjoyed going to the Norristown Sports Games and loved to go dancing with his wife every Saturday night. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Born in Philadelph­ia, PA on February 22, 1935, he was a son of the late August and Catherine (Bogni) Barbato. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 60 years, Evelyn M. (DiMonte) Barbato; a son, Tony Barbato of W. Norriton; a daughter, Barb (Jeff) Calhoun of W. Norriton, PA; three grandsons: Jeffrey (Megan), Eric and Sean; a brother, Frank (Toni) Barbato of Conshohock­en, PA; a sister, Theresa (Ron) Knoebel of Marlton, NJ; and many other loving family members.

Relatives & friends are invited to Doc’s Funeral Mass only at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton St., Norristown, PA on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10:00 am. There will be no viewing or calling hours. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohock­en, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made in Doc’s memory to the Montgomery County Heroes Fund, 40 E. Main St., Norristown, PA 19401.
