James J. “Jim” Drea, 85, of Norristown, passed away on December 26, 2017 at home. He was born April 29, 1932 in Philadelph­ia, PA.

Jim is survived by his loving bride of 62 years, Theresa (Zinicola); his children, Theresa (Bob) Bergey, Liz (Joe Kirk) Morello, Kathy (Brian) McNamee and Michael Drea. He was Pop/Poppy to Carly, Stephanie, Dan, Pat, Tara, Joey and greatgrand­pop to Adriana and Madelyn Mae. He is also survived by his sister, MaryAnne (Al) Mikula. He joins his parents, James and Margaret (Galloway) Drea, brothers Tom and David, and grandson Matthew McNamee in their eternal home.

Jim served in the Korean War as an Army sergeant. He worked for 33 years for Western Electric/AT&T. He was a member of the Liberty Bell Pioneers, MSS Club and active member of St. Paul’s Parish. Jim volunteere­d for many years at Martha’s Choice Marketplac­e at the Catholic Social Services in Montgomery County and was honored as Volunteer of the Year.

Family & Friends are invited to Jim’s Life Celebratio­n on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at BoydHorrox­Givnish of East Norriton, 200 W. Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA from 6pm-8pm and another viewing Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Paul’s RC Church, 2007 New Hope Street, Norristown, PA from 9am10am followed by his Funeral Mass at 10am. Entombment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery Mausoleum.
