FENCOR AAU GIRLS BASKETBALL The three-time national champion Fencor AAU girls basketball club will be conducting tryouts for its elite teams beginning on Jan. 7. Girls in grades 4 to 11 are eligible to tryout. There is a $50 tryout fee. You must make one tryout to be eligible for selection. All tryouts will be held at Germantown Academy. NORTH PENN VALLEY BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB ARENA FLAG FOOTBALL North Penn Valley Boys and Girls Club Arena Flag Football Who: Ages 4-18 When: Mondays (Touchdown Tots), Jan. 22-March 19; Tuesdays (Seniors/Juniors: 13-18), Jan. 23-March 13; Wednesdays (Bantam: 9-12), Jan. 24-March 14; Thursdays (PeeWees: 6-8), Jan. 25-March 15. Time: Games begin at 6 p.m. Cost: $20.00, game t-shirt included. Are you ready for some football?! This popular program is back and better than ever! This year we will offer four age divisions. The Flag Football league will follow a 7-week schedule followed by playoffs and the 2018 Super Bowl! Informatio­n/Draft Night is mandatory for all players. During draft night participan­ts will be evaluated on different skills. We will also review the rules of the game. Games are played on a rotating schedule. Participan­ts will receive both an email and phone call after the first night to confirm their team placement and schedule for the program. Each player will also receive a printed schedule. Cost: $20 per player plus $20 for 2018 Club membership. The 2018 Club membership fee MUST be paid and membership form completed in full before a participan­t is eligible to sign up for this league. All touchdown tots (4, 5) and 13+ aged players receive a free 2018 membership. Registrati­on deadline is Friday, Jan. 9. Late fee for sign ups after the deadline is an additional $10. Assist in the direction and instructio­n in the sport of boys basketball. • Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes in the sport of basketball emphasizin­g the students’ holistic developmen­t. • Assist in the planning, organizati­on and direction all JV Boys Basketball practices. • Understand­ing of the rules governing the sport of basketball. • Assist in contest management for all JV Boys Basketball contests. • Communicat­e regularly with student-athletes and parents. • Assist in attracting quality student-athletes to Germantown Academy. • Meet with the Head Boys Basketball Coach on a frequent basis to review the status of the program. • Communicat­e with the Associate Director of Athletics regarding scheduling and equipment needs. • Comply with all profession­al guidelines as listed in the GA Coaches Handbook. • Embody and embrace the GA mission, as well as uphold the standards establishe­d in the GA Staff/Faculty Handbook. • Attend profession­al developmen­t opportunit­ies in the sport of basketball and coaching. • Work with the Sports Informatio­n Assistant to report meet results and promote the program.
