Doris Marie Watkinson of Jeffersonville

Doris Marie Watkinson, age 87, of Jeffersonville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, on January 4, 2018, at Phoenixville Care and Rehabilitation Center. Miss Watkinson was born in Hollis, New York, and was the daughter of the late John Henry and Catherine Anne Watkinson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Harry and her sister Margery.

She is survived by her siblings William Watkinson, of Jeffersonville, and Kay Dorff of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Doris graduated from Dominican Commercial High School, Class of 1948, and immediately began working as a secretary. She was well-respected in her field and soon became the secretary for the chairman of the board of Cal-Tex Oil Company (Chevron). When the company moved its headquarters from New York City to Dallas, Doris relocated. She moved back East in November 2005. Doris was a woman of strong faith and had a close devotion to the Blessed Mother. She enjoyed traveling with friends to many places, especially cruises to the islands.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, January 10, 8:50-9:50 am followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N Trooper Rd., Eagleville, PA 19403. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohoken, PA at 11:30 am.
