Elizabeth C. Mahoney

Elizabeth C. (Carver) Mahoney, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday January 13, 2018 at the Abington - Lansdale Hospital. Born in Philadelphia on July 16, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Catherine Carver, and loving wife of the late Thomas Mahoney Sr.

Elizabeth was a dedicated parishioner of the Visitation BVM Parish for many years. After moving from Jeffersonville PA. to Fortescue NJ., she was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector as well as being a member of the Mother of Mercy Prayer Group. She served as President, Vice President, and Secretary of the Downe Twp. Senior Citizens. In her later life, she lived at Brightview Senior Living in East Norriton, PA. and most recently at St. Mary Manor in Lansdale, PA. where she attended mass regularly and participated in daily activities. In her spare time Elizabeth loved to go fishing, play bingo and cards with friends, and she was an avid Philadelphia sports fan especially when it came to her beloved Eagles. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and dear friend to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and she will be missed by many.

Elizabeth was the beloved mother of Thomas (Angela) Mahoney Jr; and cherished grandmother of Thomas (Alyssa) Mahoney III, Steven Mahoney, and Brent Mahoney.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her two siblings, Anna Manning, and Francis “Buddy” Carver.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Elizabeth on Thursday January 18, 2018 from 9:30-10:50 AM at the Visitation BVM Parish (Upper Church), 196 N. Trooper Rd. Eagleville PA. 19403. Mass will follow the viewing at 11:00AM. Burial will take place in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Ave. Philadelphia PA. 19150.
