Leon H. Fox Jr. of Lafayette Hill
Leon H. Fox, Jr., 85, of Lafayette Hill, passed away on January 22, 2018. Born in Norristown, he is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Lois Fox, loving father of his children Marlene (Joel Goldwein), Craig (Mary), Jeffrey (Song) as well as grandchildren, Marc (Kimberly), Robert, Eric, Oliver, Hannah, Jennifer and Stephen and greatgrandchild, Juliana.
Mr. Fox graduated Norristown High School in 1949, graduated Lafayette College in 1953, Magna Cum Laude with honors in Government and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation’s oldest academic society. He received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1956 where he was asked to be a member of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. An accomplished attorney with extensive trial experience, Mr. Fox, who spent his entire legal career with the Norristown firm of Fox and Fox, successfully tried cases in Courts at all levels. He was honored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and by the Montgomery Bar Association in recognition of his 50th year of admission to the Bar and in appreciation of the faithful and continuance devotion to the Montgomery Bar Association and the Courts of Montgomery County.
Mr. Fox, who resided in Montgomery County all of his life, was an avid sports fan. He coached Little League baseball and Biddy basketball and participated for many years in the Montgomery County Senior Games and the Pennsylvania Senior Games in many events involving basketball and has won numerous gold and silver medals. Until last recently, Leon was the starting pitcher in the annual Montgomery Bar Association softball game, and loved shooting “hoops” with his children and grandchildren. There was nothing he liked more than spending time with his extended family, particularly on vacations and especially at the NCAA Final Four basketball tournaments.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Boyd-HorroxGivnish Funeral Home, 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19401. 8:30 to 9:30 visitation, 9:30 service. Contributions in his memory can be made to Tiferet Bet Israel, 1920 Skippack Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
