crafted Underdog Lager to the team. The aim was to get the beer to the players in time for the Eagles Victory Parade, which will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday.

The brewery had asked for help from their patrons and anyone else who may have been able to assist them.

“One of our brewers’ friends from high school lives next door to Fletcher Cox and yesterday they showed him what was posted about our beer. So the brewer went to his house and gave him the beer and Fletcher said he would give it to the team,” explained Richard Wolf, CEO/sales representative for the brewery.

The beer is a 4.1 percent lager that Wolf described as “a nice light, refreshing beer to celebrate with.” The beer was brewed about five weeks ago and the company had planned to put it into a keg but decided to can it instead. They then released the beer to the public on Friday and sold out their 2,700 cans in only 3½ hours.

“We called it Underdog and just went with it. We had an amazing response in the general public for it,” said Wolf on Tuesday. “We didn’t expect that kind of response. We thought some people would come in and when we went to open the doors there was a line around the corner and down the block.”

Luckily, the brewers set aside five cases to reserve for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Wolf said they took a cue from the deal that Bud Light made to Philadelphia Eagles fans, promising them free beer if the team won the Super Bowl.

“It’s Eagles themed, it’s themed for the city. We bleed green. We’re one of the only companies that made a beer just for them. Since [Bud Light] is buying beers for the city we want to buy beers for the team. If they’re taking care of us we’re taking care of them,” said Wolf on Tuesday.

After the beer was successfully delivered, Wolf added Wednesday, “It’s exciting being able to share our beer with players. Being able to share it with them normally is exciting but the fact that it was brewed for them, it just makes it that much better.”
