GRAND MARSHAL’S BALL Saturday, March 3: The annual Grand Marshal’s Ball for the Saint Patrick’s Parade in Conshohock­en will take place on March 3rd beginning at 6 p.m. This gala event will take place at the Norristown Elmwood Park Zoo Banquet Hall on Harding Boulevard. Bobbie Kelly Thompson Liberace will be honored as the 2018 Grand Marshal for the Conshohock­en St. Patrick’s Parade that will take place on March 10th. Norristown Fire Chief Tom O’Donnell, last year’s grand marshal, will hand over the Traditiona­l Walking Stick and present Bobbie with the 2018 parade sash. Tickets are now on sale for $40. That includes dinner, wine, draft beer, soda and music. Cash bar for all other beverages. For tickets please call 610 209 5964.

PROM DRESS PALOOZA Until March 17: The First Baptist Church of Norristown is receiving donations for their annual Prom Dress Palooza! All new and gently-used dresses, shoes, and accessorie­s may be bagged and dropped off at the church’s front door at any point prior to March 17, 2018. PENN STATE OPEN HOUSE Friday, Feb. 23: GREEN LANE PARK HOSTS “CABIN FEVER HIKE” Saturday, Feb. 24: Montgomery County’s Green Lane Park will hold a “Cabin Fever Hike” on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Join staff for a brisk hike to explore the woods along the Orange Trail. Along the way, we will search for signs of early spring animal activity in the woods. Terrain ranges from rocky to potentiall­y icy or muddy, please wear appropriat­e footwear. SUGAR MAPLE TREES Sunday, Feb. 25: Take a close look at maple trees, especially sugar maple, at Norristown Farm Park at 2 pm. How did the Native Americans and early settlers get their maple sugar? Hear a Native American legend about the discovery of sap. Learn about the history of sugar-making and how we make maple syrup from the sap of this special tree. Taste maple sugar and syrup and compare with commercial varieties. Maple candy will be available for purchase. This free event is appropriat­e for adults and children ages six and older. The Centre Theater is located at 208 DeKalb St. in Norristown. There is free parking on the street and a parking garage less than a hundred yards away from the theater.
