PW’s lineup, style change against Roman with starter Glover out
WHITEMARSH » Ask anyone what the best high school basketball league is in Pennsylvania and they’ll tell you it’s the Philadelphia Catholic League.
Roman Catholic won the Catholic League this year and they’re loaded with talent across the board.
Beating the Cahillites in a win-or-go-home game is a tough task, but it’s what Plymouth Whitemarsh faces in the second round of the PIAA Class 6A state playoffs Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Bensalem High School.
To make things even more challenging, the Colonials will be playing without senior starting forward Alan Glover, who suffered a concussion against Dallastown Saturday.
With Glover out, the Colonials will likely go with a smaller lineup that focuses on tempo and pressure defense. They’ve subbed out Glover and junior center Naheem McLeod at different times throughout the season to change the pace.
“We either pulled Alan or Nah to go fast anyway,” PW head coach Jim Donofrio said. “We always have that motor. We have guys waiting in the wings for an eternity.
