John D. Tassone of Audubon

John D. Tassone of Audubon, and a former resident of the Roxborough section of Philadelph­ia, passed away on Tuesday March 13, 2018. He was 94 years old. Born August 7, 1923 in Philadelph­ia, he was the son of the late Dominick and Rose (nee Valitutto) Tassone, and the beloved husband of Anita (nee Adonizio) with whom he spent nearly 50 years of marriage.

John grew up in the Port Richmond section of Philadelph­ia and raised his family in Roxborough. John lived a very active and athletic life. He had a love for Billiards, Ballroom Dancing, and Skiing. Early on, he competed in Ballroom Dancing competitio­ns on roller skates and was a National Champion. Just several weeks ago, he even won a Billiard Championsh­ip at Shannondel­l. John was a veteran of the US Army and served during World War II.

In addition to his wife Anita, John is survived by his three children; Lisa Caruso (fiancé Russ), Roslyn Angelichio (Mick) and John Tassone (Lisa), five grandchild­ren; Isabel, Sofia, Nic, Giovanni, and Carlina as well as his sister Mary Banning. He was preceded in death by his four borthers and one sister.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in John’s Life Celebratio­n on Friday March 16, from 6 to 8 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000 and again on Saturday March 17, from 9 to 9:50 AM at St. Teresa of Avila 1260 S. Trooper Rd. Norristown. His Funeral Mass will begin a 10 AM at the church. Interment will be private.
