Fugitive, accomplice arrested in home
PHOENIXVILLE » A Philadelphia fugitive and a woman who allegedly aided him were arrested after Phoenixville officers found the man hiding inside a home.
Hakim Johnson, 38, of Philadelphia, was arrested Monday by Phoenixville Police Monday after officers searched an apartment on the 800 block of Parkview Drive.
According to police, officers went to the apartment at 1:55 p.m. after receiving a tip that fugitive Hakim Johnson was inside.
Tiffany Keys, 28, answered the door and a wave of marijuana smoke followed her as she quickly pulled the door closed behind her, officers said in a Facebook post. Keys refused to let the officers check the apartment for Johnson so they obtained a search warrant for her home. At 5:59 p.m., the officers entered the apartment and found Johnson hiding inside.
Johnson was arrested on the warrant and Keys faces charges for marijuana possession and aiding and abetting a fugitive.
Johnson’s charges stem from an incident that occurred on the afternoon of Nov. 17, 2017. On that date, Sgt. David Gold stopped the driver of a black Jeep SRT8 in the 400 block of Anderson Avenue for having a tinted windshield. Johnson was driving the Jeep but police say he provided a false name to the officer. At the same time, a woman later identified as Keys, pulled up to the officer screaming that she was pregnant and having labor contractions. In what was a concerted effort to distract the officer, Johnson fled in the Jeep at a high speed and was able to get away, police said. Keys also allegedly provided a false name to the officers and refused an ambulance once Johnson made his getaway.

Johnson’s apprehension.
Sgt. Gold was able to identify Johnson as the driver of the Jeep and learned that he fled because he had a bench warrant for his arrest.
Keys and Johnson are both currently awaiting preliminary hearings.
